A popular beach 3km east of Plakias village is Souda beach. A beautiful sandy beach with crystal clear water, organized with umbrellas and showers. Near the beach there are a few taverns with tasty food.
On your way to Souda beach you can find a lot of smaller rocky beaches.

10 km east of Plakias you can find the famous palm beach of Preveli. You can either enjoy the sea or walk along the gorge under the shadow of palm trees.

To visit Preveli beach you can drive to Preveli Monastery and walk down a path for about 20’ so you can also enjoy the view from above. Alternatively you can use a boat from Plakias or Agia Galini directly to the beach.

Damnoni beach is a very large sandy beach just 5km east of Plakias. A part of it is organized with umbrellas, showers and water sports and a part of it is more secluded and quiet.
You can also find snack bars and taverns on the road above the beach.

The next gulf from Damnoni and 7km from Plakias you can find the beach of Skinaria. It’s a rather small beach partly rocky and partly sandy, at an exotic scenery with blue-green water. Be careful, the last part of the road is a bit rough.
If you like scuba diving you can also enjoy the seabed on Skinaria which is very rich.

Above Plakias, at 3km northeast you can find the small village of Myrthios. In the village you can find small shops with handcrafted items and local products. The food on all the taverns is very good. From Myrthios you can also enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of Plakias bay.
